FAIRBORN — Brandon "Bo" Kunkle of Fairborn is taking a shot at love on MTV.

Kunkle, 24, is one of 30 men and women who will compete for the heart of model and actress Tila Tequila on "A Shot of Love 2 with Tila Tequila." The bisexual-themed reality dating show premieres at 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 22.

Kunkle, a 2001 Fairborn High School graduate, was contacted in December 2007 by MTV about appearing on a reality dating show — several years after submitting a casting application to the network at the suggestion of a friend.

"It kind of just snowballed from there," Kunkle said. "I went out there for some casting and long story short, I made it out to California."

Kunkle could not divulge much about filming "A Shot at Love" earlier this year in Los Angeles. The series pits 15 straight men and 15 lesbian women against one another for the affections of Tequila.

"I went out there with the intention of meeting this amazingly beautiful, talented person," he said. "She met every one of my expectations and even exceeded them.

"The whole experience was amazing, and I had an absolute blast and would definitely do it again," Kunkle continued. "Not just Tila herself, but the whole cast was awesome."

Kunkle works in the Dayton area as a bartender and DJ. He also coaches Fairborn High School Skyhawks football.

He is bracing himself for the recognition that appearing on "A Shot at Love" may bring.

"I was preparing myself for once the show started to embrace this whole semi-stardom thing, but it actually got a little jump-start ahead of me," he said. "Once the commercials and the previews and the trailers started showing, the whole buzz started going."

Kunkle will coach Fairborn Skyhawks football through fall, but then his options are open.

"I'm Fairborn at heart," he said. "I bleed blue, blue and white. I'll never forget where I come from, but if something comes of this experience, I'm ready to embrace it and run with it."
