One of Dayton's premier nightclubs is ready to "unmasque" its new look.

Club Masque, 34 N. Jefferson St., Dayton, will show off the end result of its first major renovation since opening in December 2005, with a grand reopening celebration beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, April 25.

Extras

The club embarked on a more than $300,000 renovation in January that includes a series of upgrades to the first floor. Upgrades include a new dance floor, raised seating improving clubgoers' view, a new VIP area on the first floor (in addition to the VIP area on the second floor), new furniture, new carpeting designed by an artist just for Club Masque, 60 plasma screens that will display videos, in-house advertising and special shows/events happening at the club.

Other upgrades include a new LED bubble lighting system on stage that offers 16.7 million lighting color possibilities and a new entry to the Smoker's Lounge Patio, as well as new paint and minor repairs.

"This is Dayton's most traveled club, and it was showing some wear," said Chris Rivera, director of marketing and promotion.

Friday's events include a VIP preview at 10 p.m., with the first floor reopening to the public at 11 p.m. The club, billed as a gay club but not an exclusively gay club, will be open before 11 p.m., however guests without VIP access will be restricted to the second floor. Activities include a champagne toast and music by DJ Venus.

"It's very impressive," Rivera said of the renovation. "It's beautiful."
